If You An't First, You're Last - Ricky Bobby

Let me explain the subject. Like every Monday, we hopped on a gaugua and headed to Bani this morning.

I will explain a bit how a guagua works- there is a driver up front and then at the door there is a man who hangs out the whole time yelling at people to get on and controls where the guagua stops, he is the brains of the operation one could say. Usually the guaguas ride relatively slow to stop and pick people up standing on the side of the highway. However, today was different. As we pulled onto the freeway we looked out the window and saw another guagua on the same route, stopping to pick up people. Usually when this happens the guagua play leapfrog and pick up every other person. but like I said, today was different. out of nowhere the guagua starting flying! the driver floored it. A competition between the guaguas to beat the other to all of the passengers waiting on the highway immediately arose. We went faster than any bus should ever go. We broke the sound barrier and probably a few land-vehicle velocity records. The bus sped up and hit mach 1 and then mach 2 and within 30 seconds, mach 3. It was incredible.

And then out of nowhere the driver slammed the brakes! the operator jumped our and started yelling at people to run and jump on the bus! As soon as these people got on, the guagua sped up to mach 3 again. and within a few minutes slammed the brakes in the middle of the highway to pick up poor bystanders, doomed to an adrenaline filled wake up call. this pattern of flooring it and slamming it continued for the next half hour to bani.  We happily won the race with the passengers cheering and laughing as we approached bani. Just another day in the DR.

As far as the work goes, this week has been challenging. All of the progressing investigators in santana are no longer...investigating. We are almost done contacting all of Santana and are now seeking the Lord's guidance as to what we need to do next.

I love you my family! Thanks for your updates each week! Thanks for your prayers and thoughts and love.

Love,
Thomas

BTW I got the package! Thanks so much! Also, tell Sister Farrar thanks for the letter!
